Gamber & Community Fire Co. and Sykesville Freedom District Fire Department units were alerted for a single vehicle rollover crash on Irving Ruby Road just off of Rt 32 in Eldersburg. The call came in at 4:20 pm on Tuesday. Maryland State Police were on the scene reporting the crash.

Sykesville's medic unit responded since Gamber's ambulance was out on another call. Gamber Engine 134 also responded. Units found the driver had left the vehicle and was sitting by the side of the road. The car's engine was still running and it was still in gear. Firefighters from the engine company had to use special tools to unlock the car and gain access to the interior in order to shut down the engine.

The driver was transported to the hospital. Units cleared within 30 minutes and sheriff's deputies remained on the scene completing the investigation and waiting for a tow truck.
