In the early evening hours of Monday, May 7, 2018, Sykesville Freedom District Fire Department along with others were alerted for a building fire in the area of Marriottsville Rd. and Henryton Rd. While en-route, Sykesville's Engine 124 asked for a Tanker Task Force. Engine/Tanker 133 from Gamber & Community Fire Co. was alerted along with other area tankers. This was soon followed by Gamber's Engine 131 and then Engine 134. Crews from Sykesville arrived and found fire in the now vacant Thomas O'Farrell Youth Center.

EngineTanker 133 was the first unit from Gamber to arrive and assisted getting water from the tankers back to the scene. Crews from Engine 131 and Engine Tanker 133 proceeded back the lane to assist with the fire. Crews remained on scene for a couple hours before returning.
