Gamber Scholarship Winners Announced

Members of the Gamber & Community Fire Co. and the Oscar Brothers Family are pleased to announce that Caitlin Hall and Sarah Kleb, both of Eldersburg, Maryland have been named the winners of the 2018 Oscar Brothers Memorial Scholarship Fund Award.

The scholarship is jointly sponsored by the Brothers family and the Gamber & Community Fire Company and it awards generous funds for tuition to both young ladies for four years. An additional bonus of $500.00 is awarded for each semester on the Dean’s List. This is the eleventh year of the scholarship program that is funded by the Brothers Family and managed by the fire company.

As part of the scholarship requirements, the winner is required to complete 40 hours of community service each year and must maintain a 2.5 or better GPA in college. The student must reside in Gamber & Community Fire Co.'s first due district.

Caitlin graduated from Liberty High School in June and will be attending St. Mary’s College of Maryland. She will be majoring in history and anthropology with a minor in museum studies. She is the daughter of Susan and Joseph Hall of Eldersburg.

Sarah also graduated from Liberty High School in June and will be attending Elizabethtown College in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania. She is enrolled in the honors program as a biotechnology major and a mathematics minor. She is the daughter of Julie and David Kleb of Eldersburg.

Both young ladies had outstanding academic achievement at Liberty, excellent test scores, extra-curricular activities, community service, and they both contributed excellent essays.

The fire company congratulates Caitlin and Sarah as this year's scholarship winners for their excellent applications and the membership wishes them well in their upcoming years in college.
