The Gamber & Community Fire Company Dive Team held their annual training session on Sunday, February 5, 2012 at the Harlow Pool at McDaniel College. Team members with Gamber and satellite divers from surrounding fire companies converged on the warm waters of the indoor pool to conduct standard qualifications and practice basic exercises while wearing EXO full face mask scuba equipment.

Basic skills required for diving included: a 200 yard swim, treading water for 5 minutes, retrieving a 5 lb. weight from 10 feet and floating for 5 minutes. New members gained familiarity with the full face mask while others refreshed use of search patterns involving land support personnel and jack stay set-ups.

A favorite cardio routine involving an inflatable exercise ball was utilized at the conclusion of the training.

The Gamber & Community Fire Company Dive team appreciates Kim Easterday and the staff at McDaniel College for their continued support and use of an excellent facility.
