NEW ENGINE 134 DELIVERED

The new Engine 134 has been delivered. Committee members traveled to Wisconsin in early February to take final delivery and to drive it back home. The committee is currently working on outfitting the engine and preparing to place it in service within a few weeks.

Gamber's newest engine is a 2012 Pierce Velocity with a 6-man cab and an all stainless-steel body. It is powered by a Detroit DD13 diesel engine http://www.detroitdiesel.com/engines/dd13/ with an Allison automatic transmission. The driver and crew will be protected by a complete rollover restraint system with multiple airbags and other safety devices. It is equipped with backup and side view cameras.

The engine has a 1000 gallon booster tank and a Waterous 1500 GPM single stage pump. It is equipped with a hydraulic ladder rack and an 8 Kw Harrison hydraulic generator.

The New Engine Committee was chaired by Chief Engineer Chuck Doyle. Committee members were Chief Charlie Green, President Dale Bollinger, Tim Brown, Mike Franklin, Dave Barnes, and Lionel Stickles.
