| Gamber & Community Fire Co. and its water rescue team members are working with a local Boy Scout on his Eagle Scout project. Sean Baldwin has planned to install signs all around the Liberty Reservoir watershed property to assist boaters and rescuers. Maps and coordinates of the reservoir will be provided and posted after the project is complete.
The project has involved members of his troop, #395, which is chartered by Sandy Mount United Methodist Church in Finksburg and others. Randy Baldwin, Sean's father, is scoutmaster for Troop 395.
Signs were fabricated by the Maryland State Highway Administration and are reflective for visibility at night. Authorizations and permits were acquired from Baltimore City and other agencies.
Installation is expected to take place over several weekends in July and August. Photos in this story were taken on Saturday, July 14, 2012. Gamber Assistant Chief and Dive Team Coordinator, Shawn Chenoweth, coordinated the project with Sean. |
