1st Due Basement Fire

Gamber & Community Fire Company responded to 3052 Sykesville Road for a reported basement fire at 4:10 p.m. on December 30, 2013. Apparatus from multiple districts assisted with the quick extinguishment of a basement fire that was beginning to make entry into a first floor bedroom before being placed under control within 30 minutes after arrival on scene. The occupants located the fire after being alerted by operating smoke alarms and attempted to extinguish the fire before being pushed outside by heavy smoke. Firefighters made an agressive attack on the blaze and contained the fire to the basement and the first floor bedroom. The Office of the State Fire Marshal is currently investigating the cause of the fire.
