Passing Of Charter Member and Past Chief Clarence Souders

The members and staff of the Gamber & Community Fire Company are deeply saddened by the loss of one of our outstanding Charter members. Clarence Souders always expressed his pride as a hard working member of this fire company by always assisting with any and all projects that involved improving the departments image with the community. He was always a positive, forward thinking individual we all hope to emulate in our own lives. Thank you for choosing to allow us to benefit from your experience and positive attitude!

Clarence R. Souders, age 87, of Gamber, died Monday, February 17, 2014, at the Carroll Hospice Dove House, Westminster.
Born January 2, 1927, in Big Pool, MD he was the son of the late Ira Roy Souders and Anna Elizabeth Mills Souders. He was the husband of Doris M. Musgrove Souders of Gamber.
Clarence had retired from Carroll County Government as a dispatcher chief. He had worked there from 1963-1991. Clarence had served in the United State Air Force. He was a charter member of Gamber and Community Fire Company.
Surviving in addition to his wife are daughter and companion, Patricia Ann Lindsay and David Lawson of Freeland, MD, daughter and son-in-law, Sharon Souders Krause and Ken Krause of Sandown, NH and granddaughter, Samantha Marie Krause of Sandown, NH. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son, Clarence Wayne Souders who died in 2004.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 7:30 PM at the Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville, followed by a memorial service at 7:30 PM by the Gamber & Communit Fire Company.
A funeral service will be held on Friday at 1 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Bethesda Cemetery, Sykesville.
