A call for a brush fire was upgraded to a house fire on Monday morning, April 28, 2014. Units were initially alerted for a brush fire behind a residence on Sykesville Rd. in Gamber at approximately 10:09 am. Gamber Brush 136 responded and reported fire showing. This upgraded the call to a full box alarm assignment.

Engine 134 responded next and reported a working fire extending up the exterior rear corner of the house and next to a large propane tank. The fire was extinguished quickly and units remained on the scene checking for extension and clearing smoke from the interior. Damage appeared to be limited to the rear laundry room.

Units cleared and returned to service. The Office of the State Fire Marshal was on the scene investigating.

Winfield's engine filled in at the Gamber station.
