GAMBER CELEBRATES 50 YEARS – 1964 - 2014

Gamber & Community Fire Co. celebrated its 50th Anniversary on Saturday, May 10, 2014 with a banquet and awards ceremony. Officers, directors, and active members of the fire company planned the event to recognize the hard work, time, and dedication contributed by members of the fire company since 1964.

Special guests included charter members, auxiliary members, local politicians, neighboring fire company representatives, the Maryland State Fire Marshal, representatives from the Maryland State Fireman’s Association and Auxiliary, Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, Maryland State Police, and friends of the fire company.

Gamber member, past fire chief, and current president of the Carroll County Volunteer Emergency Services Association (CCVESA,) Denny Brothers, was the master of ceremonies. CCVESA chaplain Charles Barnhart conducted a memorial for deceased charter members.

Carroll County State Delegates Susan Krebs and Justin Ready presented certificates from the Maryland State legislature to the fire company and to charter members.

Active Charter Members, Charles Arnold, William Bollinger, Jr., Wesley “Buddy” Lindsay, and Kenneth Linton were recognized and presented with watches, plaques, and certificates for their 50 years of active service.

Active Charter Auxiliary Members, Betty Arnold, Virginia Brothers, Louise Lindsay, and Bernice Linton were also honored at the ceremony.
