Just before 11am, crews were alerted for a house fire on Wilmot Ridge Drive. As units called en route, dispatch advised they had multiple calls and believed it was a working fire. Engine 131 arrived and layed a supply line back the driveway and found a 2 story single family dwelling with fire showing from the second floor and most of the roof burned off. Two residents were home at the time but were able to make it out safely before arrival of the fire department. Crews originally knocked down the fire from the outside until a review of conditions of the interior could be made. Crews then operated inside until a decision was made to evacuate and go into defensive operations. Tower 12 was setup and extinguished the remaining fire from above and then a small amount of overhaul was conducted on the interior of the dwelling to eliminate hot spots.

Due to a lack of fire hydrants in the area, a tanker task force was requested to supply water to the scene. Crews never lost water flow and tankers hauled approximately 22,000 gallons from a tank at Deer Park and Route 32 and also a fire hydrant at Carroll Community College.

No injuries were reported during the incident. State Fire Marshal's are investigating the origin and cause of the fire. The home was equipped with working smoke alarms.
