Louisville Road Fire

Gamber & Community Fire Co. and neighboring fire department units were alerted for a house fire on Monday morning, June 1 at 2:25 am in the 3900 block of Louisville Road off of Deer Park Road. Engine 134 responded at 0230 and arrived at 0237.

The first arriving engine reported fire showing from the 2nd floor and the attic area. Two occupants were safely out of the dwelling upon arrival of the fire company and accounted for.

Initially a defensive attack transitioned to an interior operation. Water supply was established from a stream on Louisville Rd.
The fire was knocked in approximately 30 minutes and was declared under control in 90 minutes. Extensive overhaul operations were due to the building’s construction.

The Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal estimated $150,000 in damage and advised the fire was caused by lightning. There were no smoke alarms in the dwelling.
