Serious Crash Closes Rt. 91

Units from Gamber & Community Fire Co. and Reese & Community Volunteer Fire Co. were alerted for a serious crash with entrapment on Rt. 91 at the intersection of Old Gamber Rd. in Finksburg. The call was dispatched at 2:24 pm.

Units arrived on the scene where a small Nissan Versa had rear-ended a heavy duty Chevrolet pickup truck. The driver of the Nissan had to be extricated from the car. Firefighters from both companies worked to remove the driver after removing both doors. The occupants of the pickup truck were not injured.

The injured driver was then transported by State Police helicopter to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. Units cleared the scene after the helicopter departed and crews put their apparatus back in service.
