Each December on National Wreaths Across America Day, the mission to Remember, Honor and Teach is carried out by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as at more than 3,400 additional locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea and abroad.

The Mount Pleasant Chapel Cemetery in Gamber participated in Wreaths Across America on Saturday, December 17, 2022. Gamber & Community Fire Co. supported this effort at the cemetery located behind the Faith Family Church in Gamber on Rt. 32. Forty-five graves of fallen veterans were honored with wreaths supplied by the Babylon Vault Company in New Windsor.

Gamber sent retired Engine 132 to the ceremony with Chief Engineer Chuck Doyle representing the fire company.

Active military members, veterans, families, friends, church members, and Boy Scout Troop 719 also participated in the wreath laying that took place on a windy and cold Saturday afternoon. Jon Hill was the master of ceremonies.
