Gamber Junior Firefighter Fun Day

Gamber & Community Fire Co. hosted Gamber Junior Firefighter Fun Day on Saturday, January 14, 2023. The event ran from 10:00 am through 3:00 pm. at the Gamber station.

Thirty-two juniors from five Carroll County fire companies participated. These included Sykesville, Mt. Airy, Westminster, and Winfield in addition to juniors from Gamber. Senior members, parents, and relatives of the junior firefighters also were present and assisted.

Junior firefighters participated in four different stations while learning new skills. Stations and activities included the following:

a search and rescue activity,
an EMS activity,
a hose hook-up activity,
a “scavenger hunt on the fire engines” activity.

Lunch and snacks were provided for all participants.

Gamber & Community Fire Co. officers, firefighters, and members planned and supervised the activities. Gamber 1st Vice-President Chrissy Green coordinated the event with the help of the junior counselors committee.
