Gamber Tanker Assists Baltimore County on Tanker Truck Crash & Fire

Engine/Tanker 133 from Gamber & Community Fire Co. responded to a fuel tanker truck crash in Baltimore County early Friday morning.

A tanker truck loaded with fuel overturned and caught on fire on the entrance ramp to I-795 North early Friday morning, closing lanes on I-795 North past I-695, according to the Baltimore County Fire Department. The incident was first reported just before 6:00 am. The Baltimore County Fire Department requested a fire tanker strike team to respond. Gamber was alerted to assist at 6:08 am.

All ramps were closed from the inner and outer loops, according to the Maryland State Highway Administration.

The driver of the truck was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, reported the Maryland State Police. No other injuries were reported as a result of the crash.

The Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) reported that the tanker truck was filled with fuel and that cleanup efforts were in progress at the scene. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Engine/Tanker 94 from Reese and Community Volunteer Fire Co. in Carroll County also responded to the incident.
