Two preschool classes of three-year-olds visited the Gamber fire station on Tuesday, January 27 and Wednesday, January 28, 2024. The children from Messiah Lutheran Church's Nursery Program in Sykesville attended with their parents and teachers.

Jeremy Sherfey, a Gamber & Community Fire Co. firefighter and EMT, and a member of the church, conducted the tour. Children saw the water rescue boats and dive unit, fire engines, the brush truck, and the ambulance. Jeremy also put on his turnout gear so the children could see a firefighter up close.

At the conclusion of the tour the children returned to the classroom where they enjoyed snacks and a coloring activity. They were also provided with a packet of fire safety activities. The children and their parents enjoyed the tour and the hands-on activities and were invited to come back for another visit.
