Firefighters, EMS providers, and officers from Gamber & Community Fire Co. and Sykesville Freedom District Fire Department participated in an extrication drill on Saturday, May 10, 2025 on the carnival grounds. Multiple scenarios were set up for the participants. Sykesville's Tower 12 was on the scene and its crew assisted with the training. Tower 12 provided many of the tools used during the activities.

Members and officers participated as well as several probationary firefighters. Participants worked with battery operated rescue tools as well as traditional hydraulic tools. Training dummies were utilized inside the vehicles to allow firefighters and EMS staff the opportunity to practice pre-hospital skills.

Five vehicles were used in the training. Four were donated by the community and one was donated by Rockdale Towing.

The training was coordinated by Chief Chad Hastings, Captain Mike Green, and Lieutenant Emily Franklin. Breakfast and lunch were provided for everyone by members of the fire company.
