A single vehicle crash on Louisville Road in Finksburg occurred on Monday, December 8. Gamber units were alerted at approximately 5:12 pm. Medic 139 arrived on the scene and reported that this was a working rescue with the driver trapped in the vehicle. Chief 13, Chad Hastings, arrived and established command. Additional units from Reese and Sykesville were then requested.

The vehicle had run off the road, over a guardrail, and down a slope. Several electrical wires and a power pole were also reported down in the roadway. Crews were able to extricate the driver from the damaged vehicle while also avoiding the electrical wires. The Maryland State Police helicopter was requested to transport the victim. An engine from Reese was assigned to establish a landing site for the helicopter.

Later in the incident, the helicopter was cancelled and the victim was transported by ambulance to Sinai Hospital. The additional units were placed in service and Engine 134 remained on location for scene safety since the road was closed.

During the incident on Louisville Road, additional calls were dispatched for an electrical odor in the Royal Farms Store located at Rt. 32 and Rt 91 and for a medical emergency on Poole Road off of Cherry Tree Lane.
