A house fire in the 2000 block of Deer Park Road in Finksburg was dispatched at 11:24 am on Sunday, September 6, 2026. Units from Gamber and neighboring departments were alerted.

First arriving units reported smoke from all sides of the split foyer style house. Battalion Chief 101 established command. Crews searched the interior and advanced hand lines into the house and onto the roof. Additionally, firefighters opened the roof to ventilate the structure.

A RID dispatch was also requested by command and additional tankers were included. This area of the county has no fire hydrants. The fire was declared under control at 11:48. Crews remained on the scene checking for hot spots and for ventilating. There were no injuries to residents or responders.

Duty fire marshals arrived on the scene to investigate and determine the origin and cause of the fire.

BGE was requested to shut off power and a building inspector was also dispatched. Animal control was also alerted for several house pets. Units started clean-up and returned to service after the fire was declared out, well after 12:00 noon.
