January 11, 1944 – November 23, 2023

Gamber & Community Fire Co. Life Member, Clifford (Cliff) Joseph Yeager, 79, of Finksburg, passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2023, at Autumn Lake Longview in Manchester, surrounded by his family.

He was born on January 11, 1944, in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Robert Yeager and Helen Bursic Yeager. He was the husband of 57 years to Mary Ann Yeager.

Cliff retired from the Social Security Administration as a Systems Analyst. He along with his devoted wife raised their four daughters: Christine "Chrissy" Yingling (Richard "Dickie"), Renee Yingling (Ed), Karen McKinney (Mark) and Cindy Yeager. Cliff loved and participated in sports his entire life including baseball, basketball, football, golf, and softball. His passion for softball led him to play as a professional and he was ultimately inducted into the Maryland Softball Hall of Fame. Cliff's desire to share his knowledge of sports brought him to coaching softball and basketball.

He served his community as a long-time parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Community, Eldersburg. Cliff was also a life member of the Gamber and Community Fire Co. He played the role of Santa for many years for the fire department. Additionally, Cliff served on the scholarship committee, assisted at bingo, and worked on many other fund-raising committees.

Surviving in addition to his, wife, daughters and sons-in-law are grandchildren: Jim Green, Zach Green (Tori Blizzard), Ryan Yingling (Jay) and Craig Yingling, great granddaughters Aubri and Hailey Green, brother Wayne Yeager and sister Cheryl Maloney (Mike). He was predeceased by granddaughter Bethany Shay Green and brothers Bill and Ronnie Yeager.

Memorial donations may be made to the Bethany Shay Green Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o: The Community Foundation of Carroll County, 255 Clifton Blvd. Ste. 313, Westminster, MD 21157 or to the Gamber and Community Fire Co., 3838 Niner Road, Finksburg, MD 21048.
