Saturday Extrication Drill and Training

Public Information Officer Clay Myers, May 10

Firefighters, EMS providers, and officers from Gamber & Community Fire Co. and Sykesville Freedom District Fire Department participated in an extrication drill on Saturday, May 10, 2025 on the carnival grounds. Multiple scenarios were set up for the participants. Sykesville's Tower 12 was on the scene and its crew assisted with the training. Tower 12 provided many of the tools used during the activities.

Gamber Board of Directors Member Jeff Fleming was elected to the office of President for the Carroll County Volunteer Emergency Services Association.

Board Member Fleming was elected to lead the Carroll County Volunteer Emergency Services Association (CCVESA) at its 21st County Convention held today in Harney, MD.

Gamber & Community Fire Company's first "Touch-A-Truck" Event was a big success. It was held on Thursday, May 8 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm at the station.

Gamber Members Recognized by Carroll County Sheriff

Five members of the Gamber & Community Fire Co. were recognized by the Carroll County Sheriffs Office on March 26, 2025.

Gamber Assists Westminster on House Fire

Multiple Carroll County fire companies were alerted for a house fire at approximately 1:07 pm on Wednesday, March 26. The dwelling was located in the 2500 block of Old Washington Road in Westminster. Units arrived and declared a working fire and requested a rapid intervention dispatch to bring additional units.

DFEMS Career Driver Promoted at Gamber

Carroll County Department of Fire and EMS Chief Michael Robinson held a brief pinning ceremony for driver/firefighter Jeffrey K. Partridge on Friday, March 21 at Gamber to recognize his previous reclassification to FADO (Fire Apparatus Driver Operator.) Jeffrey was pinned with his new badge during the ceremony. Gamber Hosts Junior Firefighter Training Day

Gamber & Community Fire Co. hosted a spring junior firefighter training day on Saturday, March 15, 2025. The event ran from 9:00 am through 1:00 pm. at the Gamber station. Gamber Junior Fire Co. chair and advisor, Chrissy Yingling, coordinated the event with assistance from Chief 13 Chad Hastings, the company's line officers, and members. Chrissy is also the CCVESA chairman of the county juniors committee.
