On Friday, April 11th, two phenomenal fire companies combined efforts for Auto Extrication Training. Twenty-one members of both Gamber & Community Fire Company and Sykesville-Freedom District Fire Department practiced proper stabilization and extrication techniques.
Air Shore Rescue tools from Rescue Squad 12 and Hurst tools from Engine 131, as well as hand tools from both units were utilized on four separate practice vehicles. Senior and junior members alike learned new skills and methods for safe and efficient uses of the various pieces of equipment. Hands-on trainings involving multiple companies are crucial in helping members understand the various equipment available to save lives in our jurisdictions.
