Members of Gamber & Community Fire Co. planned a surface ice rescue training for Friday evening, January 19, 2024 at a pond in Pleasant Valley. Swiftwater rescue technicians and land support members from Gamber, Pleasant Valley Community Fire Co. and Reese and Community Volunteer Fire Co. participated. Several scenarios were conducted where technicians rescued a "victim" who had fallen through the ice. This training had been planned earlier but officers were waiting for the proper weather and conditions.
