| Crews from Gamber & Community Fire Co. and neighboring fire departments, were alerted for a possible house fire at approximately 8:04 am on Tuesday, November 25. Responding units reported heavy smoke showing. Due to a possible domestic conflict, Carroll County Sheriffs deputies on the scene required fire department units to stage and not enter the property.
Once the scene was declared secure by law enforcement, fire units entered. Initial actions were exterior attacks due to the severity of the fire. Units then transitioned to an interior attack. The fire was controlled within an hour. Units remained on the scene conducting overhaul and smoke removal. BGE crews were dispatched to cut power.
Investigators from the Office of the State Fire Marshal were on the scene investigating. A male subject was transported to the hospital with smoke inhalation and burns. He was discharged from the hospital and arrested by Carroll County sheriff's deputies. The Office of the State Fire Marshal will be the primary law enforcement agency.
