| Several Gamber & Community Fire Co. volunteer and career personnel were honored recently by the Carroll County Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services. The awards program took place on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at the 2nd Annual CCDFEMS Commendations Ceremony in Union Bridge, Maryland. It was located in the Flood Zone Marketplace and Brewery.
Gamber president, Todd Tracey, was recognized as the Volunteer Administrator of the Year by Chief Michael Robinson.
Personnel from Gamber Medic 139 and EMS 103 were "recognized for their exceptional clinical vigilance and rapid response during an incident that transitioned into a cardiac arrest on October 25, 2025. Their mastery of cardiac protocols and ability to manage a rapidly deteriorating patient under pressure directly resulted in a life saved, reflecting the highest traditions of the Carroll County Department of Fire & EMS." Those recognized were DFEMS Supervisor EMS 103, Lt. Briana Stull, Gamber Fire Chief Chad Hastings, DFEMS FF/PM Jess Jacobs and FF/EMT Tyler Drawbaugh, and Gamber volunteer FF/EMT Jacob Sherfey.
Also honored was Christina Christiansen and her therapy dog, Diesel. They were recognized as a team for their work supporting members of DFEMS over the past year. Although Christina is not a Gamber member, she assists at the station on frequent occasions along with her husband and daughter who are both members of Gamber.
