Multiple house fires over the course of two days kept Carroll County fire companies very busy. Gamber & Community Fire Co. sent apparatus to four different fires in neighboring fire company districts.

The first house fire was located on Vance Drive in Mt. Airy but in Winfield's fire district, Box 14-2. This fire occurred at approximately 4:50 pm on Saturday, August 9. Tanker 13 responded on the initial alarm and Engine 131 responded on the 2nd alarm. This incident was possibly due to a lightning strike the evening prior.

A second house fire on Lawndale Road in Reese Fire Company's district happened at 7:49 pm on Saturday. Engines 131 and 134 responded.

The third fire was dispatched early on Monday, August 10 at approximately 5:24 am. This was located on Old Westminster Pike in Finksburg, Reese's district. This call was upgraded to a house fire with rescue. Gamber responded with Engine 131, Tanker 13, and Engine 134. Two residents were transported to hospitals. This link has updated information:

The fourth fire was located in Westminster on Count Flame Court. This call was in Westminster's box area, 3-12. Apparently this was another lightning strike. Gamber responded with Tanker 13 and Engine 131.
